Test your blood on campus tomorrow

  • November 9, 2015 at 3:22 pm

By Stelios Pappas

BELLEVILLE – The Canadian Blood Services will be testing blood types in the dining hall Tuesday morning at 11 a.m.

Type testing is important because not all types are compatible with one another.

There are four main groups – A, B, AB and O – which are then split into positive and negative.

After a prick on a finger, the technicians will be able to determine a blood type immediately.

Types A-negative and O-negative are the most in demand.

The CBS will be back on campus on Nov. 23 for blood donations.

Approximately 17,000 people need blood every year. It can take up to 50 blood bags to treat one car accident victim.

For more information or to book an appointment call the Canadian Blood Services at 1-888-236-6283.

Stay tuned for more.
