Police release suspect in assault investigation

BELLEVILLE – A 20-year-old woman was assaulted with a knife Tuesday in an east-end housing complex, Belleville Police report.

Police arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with the assault, but upon further investigation the man with no charges.

The extent of the victim’s injuries have not been confirmed.

Police say no other details of the incident will be released, but anyone with information is asked to contact police at 613-966-0882, ext. 2211.
