Big meeting Tuesday night for Quinte Health Care

  • November 24, 2015 at 11:31 am

By Mark Hodgins

BELLEVILLE – Last week’s announcement of job cuts at the area’s hospitals is expected to be front and centre at Tuesday night’s meeting of the Quinte Health Care board.

Last Thursday, QHC proposed cuts to its workers’ unions. The tentative plan is to slash 84 jobs in order to help reduce its budget by $11.5 million. Those unions will have a chance to bring some ideas on the changes back to the QHC board.

It’s expected that on Tuesday night the board will consider any proposed changes made by the unions, with final approval of the cost-cutting plan coming in January.

QNet News will be there to cover the meeting.
