‘Breaking the ice’ on Loyalist’s outdoor rink

  • January 11, 2016 at 2:59 pm

By Tara Henley

BELLEVILLE – Loyalist students can expect to break in their ice skates now that temperatures are dropping.

The foundation for the college’s ice rink was built in November but the weather since then has been too warm to freeze the rink. With this week’s temperatures reaching as low as -7 C, the water in the rink is expected to freeze and potentially be ready for use by the end of the week.

The outdoor rink was almost completely unavailable for student use last year due to warm weather.

More to come.
