Casino coming to Belleville
BELLEVILLE – Belleville will be the official site for a casino.
Great Canadian Gaming, the company that will be building the casino, is moving forward with plans to bring a site to the city, according to vice-president Chuck Keeling.
“A proposal is being put forward very soon,” he said.
Great Canadian Gaming will present the proposal to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation and the city shortly after its completion.
In September, the OLG gave its approval for a casino in the Quinte area, with Belleville being the preferred location at the time.
The west end of Bell Boulevard has been considered as a potential location, but nothing has been announced yet.
