BELLEVILLE – If you or someone you know needs a safe, warm place to stay, the city encourages the use of two public facilities.

The Belleville Public Library [2] and the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre  [3] are two of the warming centres available.

The library, at 254 Pinnacle Street downtown, is open from 9:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 9:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Fridays and 9:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. on Saturdays.

The Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre, at 265 Cannifton Rd., is open 6:30 a.m. until midnight seven days a week.

Marilyn Warren, the communications co-ordinator for the city, said these places welcome anyone in the community who needs to get warm.

At the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre there are seating areas, and people can also watch hockey games on the ice or use the free indoor track. The library offers seating areas where anyone is welcome to relax and read.
