Habitat for Humanity will house hard-working family

By Nikolai Karpinski [1]

BELLEVILLE — A family of five is going to move into a Habitat for Humanity [2] home in east Belleville.

According to Bob Clute, executive director of the Prince Edward-Hastings branch, the family will be moving in to 125 Golfdale Rd. sometime late February or early March.

A mother and her four children have qualified for a home through Habitat’s rigorous screening process. The process includes 500 hours of sweat equity – helping to build the house and participating in classes and training. Friends and family can also contribute to the hours of sweat equity.

The move was made possible by the Habitat’s Own Your Own Home [3] program which offers affordable homes for qualified families.
