OPP starting social-media recruitment drive

  • February 3, 2016 at 11:55 am

By Jaykob Storey

BELLEVILLE — The OPP has announced a new social-media-driven recruitment initiative.

Using a Twitter account, @OPP_Hire, the force will share interactive events such as virtual ride-alongs and do live streaming.

The goal is to increase awareness about the OPP and show young people that policing can be an attractive career option.

This is in response to hundreds of officers across the province preparing for retirement, according to a news release from the OPP Tuesday.
