BELLEVILLE – March is Fraud Prevention Month across Canada.

The Competition Bureau of Canada and 125 law-enforcement agencies across the country are joining forces to spread awareness of fraud prevention.

This year’s Fraud Prevention Month will focus on five main topics:

  • Emergency/Canada Revenue Agency scams
  • The romance scam
  • Microsoft/computer scams
  • Phishing/bank website scams
  • Lottery scams.

The competition bureau has a list of tips on how to avoid being scammed.

More to come.
