Quinte West OPP raise awareness of domestic violence

BELLEVILLE – Quinte West OPP are focusing their efforts on reducing domestic violence in the region.

Data from the past three years show an increase in domestic violence in the month of March, the detachment said in a news release Wednesday. The majority of incidents reported to police take place Thursday, Friday and Saturday between 4 and 6 p.m.

Officers will focus on educating the public about the dangers of domestic violence and its impact on victims. They will also be stepping up their enforcement of the laws.

The OPP provided tips on how the public can help stop domestic violence. They are:
