Belleville fire appears to be an accident

  • March 7, 2016 at 2:04 pm

By James Gaughan

BELLEVILLE – A house fire at 63 Point Anne Lane late last month seems to have been an accident, the Belleville Fire Department says.

The fire started in a garage attached to the house and spread from there. The house was destroyed the department says in a news release.

The fire department does not yet know exact cause but believe it may have been because of a generator in the garage that was not installed properly.

There was a power outage that day and numerous hydro surges following that.

The fire department is still investigating but for now is listing the cause as accidental.
