BELLEVILLE – Central Hastings OPP responded to a collision on Highway 37 on Friday night after a group of deer ran into the path of a vehicle.

No injuries were reported however the vehicle sustained significant damage.

In the past five months Central Hastings OPP has responded to 18 wildlife related motor vehicle collisions on Highway # 37 south of Blessington Road.

The OPP would like to advise the public to watch out for wildlife and exercise extra caution specifically while travelling in the area.

OPP suggests drivers scan the road ahead from shoulder to shoulder. If wildlife is spotted beside the road, slow down and pass carefully. If you spot an animal on the road stay in control of your vehicle and never swerve suddenly to avoid it.

Stay alert, especially in the early morning, at dusk, and at night.
