BELLEVILLE – A man was arrested early Tuesday morning in connection with a string of items being stolen from cars.

The man is believed to have broken into cars in the east end of the city overnight between Monday and Tuesday, Belleville Police say.

The man gave police a fake name, and when his real name was discovered, he was found to have warrants for his arrest in Hamilton, Ont.

He is charged with nine offences: three drug-related charges, three charges of breaching his probation, obstructing police, prowling unlawfully by night and mischief under $5,000.
