Wellington Dukes looking to advance with a win tonight

  • March 14, 2016 at 1:12 pm

By Buckley Smith

BELLEVILLE–The Wellington Dukes are one win away from defeating the Aurora Tigers and advancing to the second round of the OJHL playoffs.

Game six is set for Monday night at 7:30 PM, and with a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series, the Dukes could be getting ready for the second round by the end of the night.

Coached by Marty Abrams, the Dukes have been matched up tighter than anyone could have expected against Aurora.

Wellington won games one and two. Aurora stormed back to tie the series at two apiece with wins in the next two games.

And while the series overall has been a tight affair, the games themselves have been even closer. Excluding Wednesday nights 5-3 Aurora win, all of the other games so far have been decided by a lone goal.

Check back with QNet News tomorrow for a recap of tonight’s game six.
