Quinte West budget meeting in Trenton

  • March 14, 2016 at 2:54 pm

By Nikolai Karpinski

BELLEVILLE — Quinte West council is meeting to discuss the municipality’s operating budget at city hall in Trenton Monday night.

One important item is the large number of special events taking place in the area, such as the International Air Show and the Cinema on the Trent festival.

An expenditure of $20,000 to hire two special events co-ordinators for the second half of the year has been proposed. There is also a proposal to spend $80,000 to allow the arenas in Quinte West to stay open year-round and to cover the cost of arena employees’ vacation time during the busier times of the year.

More to come.
