BELLEVILLE – A downtown improvement update, the Belleville Senators‘ fan club and Canada Day funding discussions will keep Belleville council busy at its meeting Monday afternoon.

The chair of the Belleville Downtown Improvement Area, Dwane Barratt, will be speaking about upcoming appointments and activities for the BDIA board.

The executive members of the Belleville Senators fan club, Gina Giouroukos, Ellie Guenette and Jason Easton, will be sharing information on the club’s work to support the city’s new American Hockey League team.

Funds for the city’s Canada 150 celebration will also be finalized, with a total of $100,000 coming from three different city funding accounts.

Also on the agenda are sewer inspections on Cedar Street, a new Zamboni for the Yardmen Arena, and the rehabilitation of Latta Bridge.

Council meets in its chambers at 169 Front St. from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday afternoon. More to come.
