BELLEVILLE –  A Brighton man is facing charges after he became so violent while being arrested early this morning, he kicked the rear door of an OPP car so badly it could not be closed.

Quinte West OPP reported a car was stopped in the early morning hours on Jan. 19. Police noted a passenger in the car wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. After his records were checked, it was determined the man was in breach of probation and placed under arrest.

When the man was in the back of the police car he kicked the rear doors to the point they could no longer be close properly.

A Brighton man, 31, is charged with two counts of breaching probation and one count of mischief under $5000.

He’s due to appear in Belleville court today.
