Money stolen from vehicles in Tweed

  • January 24, 2017 at 3:34 pm

BELLEVILLE – Two cars in Tweed were broken into Saturday night, Central Hastings OPP say.

The vehicles were parked in their driveways on Park Avenue and loose change was stolen in both cases, said Const. Alana Deubel.

Officers are asking residents to:

  • Keep cars locked at all times and keep the key with you. Never leave your engine running unattended.
  • Take all valuables like purses, cellphones and money out of the car with you. Small change can be stored in a closed compartment.
  • Park your car in well-lit areas. If you have a garage, use it and lock the door.

Anyone with information about the Tweed thefts is asked to contact Central Hastings OPP at 613-473-4234 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
