8 Wing Trenton celebrates 80 years

8 Wing Trenton will open it’s usually fenced doors to the public this weekend.

Your Wing, Your Neighbours will take place June 4-5 to celebrate 80 years of having the Wing in Trenton.

The event will have various learning displays for those who want to learn a little more about what the wing does and Forces personnel will be available to answer questions.

In addition, a large and diverse fleet of aircraft will be on display including the CC-130 Hercules, CH-146 Griffon Helicopters, CC-150 Polaris, and the newest planes – the mammorth CC-177 Globemaster and CC-177J Super Hercules.

The open house will allow the public to experience what the Wing does for the community and for all Canadians.

Parking will not be available for the public on base. Free buses will be transporting people from Loyalist College and the Metro parking lot in Trenton.
