New name for the local health board

  • April 2, 2015 at 12:24 pm

By Tyler Renaud

BELLEVILLE – The Hastings and Prince Edward Counties Health Unit will be rebranded into the Hastings Prince Edward Public Health board following the group’s monthly meeting.

The rebranding brings a new name, new logo, new promotional templates and a new website.

Richard Schabas, Medical Officer of Health, said the move was made for clarity reasons.

“It was simply a question of making the name a little shorter, less unwieldy, and a little more descriptive of what we actually do,” said Schabas. “I think people weren’t quite sure what health unit meant. Some people thought we were a hospital. The name public health is just a little more descriptive, more accurate.”
