BELLEVILLE – Five residents from Quinte West were arrested this past Sunday from stealing from cars.
This happened despite theft from vehicles being a theme of this year’s OPP Crime Prevention Week [3].
In this instance, Quinte West OPP [4] responded to a disturbance in the Dundas Street Bridge area that involved two adults and three youth. One person in the group had in their possession an iPad mini that was reported stolen on Saturday.
Further investigation has led to recovery of more stolen property including electronics and change.
All five suspects are facing charges of theft under $5,000. Additional charges laid include three breaches of court order and two counts of marijuana possession.
UPDATE: Quinte West OPP are asking anyone living in the west end of Trenton to check their vehicles for missing items. They invite affected residents to pick up lost belongings at their detachment on Dixon Drive [5] between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. Monday to Friday.
