Belleville teen finishes fourth at national skating championships

BELLEVILLE – (UPDATE) Local skating sensation Trennt Michaud and partner Hope McLean have finished fourth at the Canadian Tire national championship being held at the Rogers K-Rock Centre in Kingston.

Michaud, of  Prince Edward County, and McLean, on London, Ont., competed in the junior pairs category and finished with a score of 119.12.

Another local skater, Emma Jianopolous, skated in novice women’s singles and finished 12th.

The event runs until Sunday.

Skate Canada, a government funded organization, sponsors and hosts the championship.
