Waterfront and Ethnic festival announcement set for Thursday at City Hall

  • March 9, 2016 at 2:22 pm

By Angus Argyle

BELLEVILLE – The public will find out what’s on tap at this year’s Waterfront and Ethic Festival at an announcement at Belleville’s city hall on Thursday.

The Chamber of Commerce, which runs the festival,  is inviting the public to attend the announcement at 12:15 on Thursday.

CEO of the Chamber of Commerce, Bill Saunders, said that a sponsor for the event will be presenting a cheque to the city and a special award is also going to be given out, the nature of which will be announced on Thursday.

The festival is an annual event and is in its 32nd year.

“It’s Belleville’s premier event and will bring the city between 35,000-40,000 visitors,” said Saunders.

The festival is family friendly says Saunders, and will include meet and greets along with interactive activities and displays for both adults and children.

There will be a wide selection of ethnic foods and in the evenings there will be main stage entertainment that will be themed. This will include a youth theme on the Thursday night, a country and western theme on Friday, a yet to be determined performance on Saturday evening and a classic rock performance on Sunday.

More to come.
