Take Back The Night at Zwick’s

  • September 25, 2013 at 2:32 pm

By Suzanne Coolen

The right to feel safe walking at night is one of the main themes of this year’s “Take Back The Night” event.

Three Oaks Foundation, the Sexual Assault Centre for Quinte and District, the CFB Trenton Military Family Resource Centre and Quinte Health Care will host the annual event Sept. 26 at 6 p.m. at the bandshell at Zwick’s Park.

“Take Back The Night” is about raising awareness about sexual assault violence in the community. It’s also about making public spaces safe for everyone.

The event is open to all members of the community and includes readings, poetry and face painting for the kids. The event will end with a “reclaim the park “ walk around Zwick’s.
