Women’s hockey team looking for new players

  • September 29, 2011 at 1:18 pm

By Christine Hosler

Women’s hockey signup is underway again this year at Loyalist College. The lady Sharks are looking for new blood to stir up the waters.

Coach Peter Williams says he’s hoping for about 25 women at tryouts, a few more than the 20 who came out last year. Williams says he goes with a two-line system, which gives him about 16 players with two goalies.

The Sharks participate in three or four tournaments throughout the season, as well as in the Loyalist recreation men’s league.

Tryouts take place at the Wally Dever Arena at 9 p.m. October 4. The signup sheet is available at the Fitness Centre front desk.

Williams is also looking for a team manager.
