BELLEVILLE – A passenger in a car pulled over Saturday decided the right time to open alcohol was while officers were still present, according to a police report.

The woman was charged as a result.

The male driver was pulled over around noon by officers with the Prince Edward County OPP on a report of possible unlicensed driving on County Road 29 in the county. He was found to be driving above the legal blood-alcohol limit, police say.

The man was released on a promise to appear in court in Picton on Nov. 21, and his car was impounded for seven days.

Meanwhile, his passenger, who police say opened some alcohol while the officers were dealing with the driver, was also charged.
