BELLEVILLE – John Cairns will be sworn in as the new honorary colonel of the 2 Air Movements Squadron at Canadian Forces Base Trenton on Wednesday.

Cairns succeeds William Mills, who has held the position of honorary colonel since 2015, according to a press release from the base.

The ceremony will take place at 10:30 a.m. inside the National Air Force Museum of Canada at the base.

The squadron flies passengers, freight, baggage and mail all over the world, also carrying out airlift operations, according to the Royal Canadian Air Force.
