By Olivia Waldriff

BELLEVILLE – A special tea event in Picton is being billed as a perfect early Mother’s Day celebration.

To honour the 200th anniversary of Queen Victoria‘s birth, Macaulay Heritage Park is having an event called A Tea for the Queen on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m.

Ten guests can learn about the history of tea and bring in one or two vintage tea items to be identified by an expert in British and European glass and ceramics. There will be baked goods provided by Black River B&B, including shortbread made from a recipe that is also used in Buckingham Palace.

Tickets are $70 and available at ticketscene.ca.
