Tyendinaga council announces candidates for upcoming election

BELLEVILLE – The Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte band council has announced the unofficial list of candidates to be on the ballot for the upcoming election on December 7.

The nominees were announced at a meeting at Quinte Mohawk School on Saturday, and as it stands Chief R. Donald Maracle will be running for re-election against three other candidates, one of which being current council member Stacia Loft.

There will be eight people running for the four councillor positions. Carl “Ted” Maracle and Josh Hill are among the eight hoping to keep their current place on council.

The full list of candidates is as follows:

Chief

  • Balin (Spiderman) Hill
  • Stacia Loft
  • R. Donald Maracle
  • Karoniakeshon Miracle

Council

  • Chase (Ogwari) Brant
  • Kathleen Brant
  • Josh Hill
  • Lynda Leween
  • Manson Loft
  • Carl ‘Ted’ Maracle
  • Chris M. Maracle
  • Kelly L. Maracle
