BELLEVILLE – Belleville police say an elderly man was struck in the head at a community centre in the city’s east end Tuesday morning.

The senior citizen was reportedly exiting the facility at around 8 a.m. when he encountered an unknown man in the parking lot.

Initially, the confrontation was verbal until the suspect struck the elderly man in the head, causing minor injury.

The suspect took off quickly after the incident and had no relation to the victim, police said.
