BELLEVILLE – The Lancers men’s basketball team took down the struggling Durham Lords 89-78 in Oshawa on Tuesday, adding another victory to their 9-2 record.

Noah Korovesi led the way for the Lancers, playing 27 minutes on the night and registering 22 points. Jeremiah Brown was a workhorse against the Lords, playing 28 minutes and racking up 16 points.

The Lancers went 35-77 from the field and 13-32 from the three-point line on the night. The Durham Lords have now lost four straight.

Loyalist sits in third in the eastern standings and has won two straight. The men’s Lancers travel to Barrie on Friday to play the 7-4 Georgian Grizzlies.

The women’s Lancers did not follow suit against Durham, losing 78-47.

Brittany Mason and Kate Raso tallied 17 and 16 points respectively for the Lancers, but it was not enough to defend against Durham’s hot offence.

They will get an opportunity to improve their 3-6 record against Georgian on Friday.
