Local high school & Catholic board teachers preparing for one-day strike

  • January 20, 2020 at 10:30 am

By Alan-Michael Steele

BELLEVILLE – Teachers from the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation and Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association are preparing for a province-wide one-day strike on Tuesday.

The job action is being taken as the province and its teacher unions work towards a new contract. The unions are concerned about the province’s plan for larger class sizes and mandatory online courses for students.

High Schools in Hastings and Prince Edward district and local Catholic schools will not be open on Tuesday due to the strike.

More to come.
