BELLEVILLE – A 37-year-old Belleville man was arrested for causing a public disturbance after he refused to cooperate with officers at the scene Tuesday night.

Police say they were called to a residence in the north end of the city around midnight.

When police arrived they found the man was drinking while taking prescribed medicine.

Police later arrested the man for failing to leave the area when he was told.

Police say they later released the man when he was no longer deemed a threat to others.
