New call centre coming to Belleville

  • November 17, 2011 at 2:27 pm

by Kyle Mumford

Belleville may soon be home to a new call centre as OLS Online Support aims to open its doors early next year bringing 500 jobs to the area.

OLS, recently acquired by Hinduja Global Solutions out of Bangalore, opened their first site in PEI in 1996.  Since then the company has launched nine other locations in Canada.

With past overnight closures of some call centres, the Quinte Economic Development Commission is confident that won’t be the case with OLS.

“There’s a strong comfort level with OLS,” said Chris King, CEO of the commission.

“With call centres in general there are some with strong ties to the community and some without,” said King.

King said OLS recently toured Belleville and Quinte West looking at properties as well as discussing the labour force capacity for the region.

OLS will be holding job fairs in the region in the next couple weeks on November 30 in Belleville and December 1 in Quinte West.
