Loyalist College electing new student government board members starting March 9

BELLEVILLE – A nearly full slate of candidates are offering themselves as Loyalist College students prepare to elect new student government board members between March 9 and 11.

Students will vote to elect fellow students to 10 different positions, including the president, vice president and leaders for different academic streams among others. There are four candidates for president and five for vice-president.

The candidates for president are:

  • Ranjana Devi, first-year human resource management
  • Ananya Kukreja, first-year general arts and science
  • Jenish Patel, first-year civil engineering technician
  • Raj Rana, first-year computer systems technician

The candidates for vice president are:

  • Deepika Bhemarasetty, first-year biotechnology technician
  • Rajat, first-year project management
  • Gurpreet Singh Hundal, first-year global business management
  • Jeet Patel, first-year biotechnology
  • Christline Pinto, first-year global business management

Wednesday students will have an opportunity to mingle and play games with the candidates and ask questions at the student government’s challenge your future leaders games day event. On March 11, the last day to vote, the eat, greet and vote event takes place where students can eat with candidates and speak with them before they cast their votes. There is also a chance to win one of two $250 prizes for voting.
