BELLEVILLE – Belleville Police were busy dealing with multiple driving infractions over the weekend.

An officer pulled over a vehicle driving in a suspicious manner near College Street East around 7:30 p.m. on November 28.

The officer suspected the driver was impaired during the investigation.

The 45-year-old man was then arrested and taken back to the Belleville Police Department where the alcohol breath readings found he was almost three times over the legal limit.

The driver faces multiple related charges, including impaired operation of a motor vehicle, operation of a motor vehicle while blood alcohol content exceeded 80mgs and driving without a licence.

In another incident, Belleville police responded to a call from local paramedics about two unconscious people in a running vehicle in a plaza parking lot off of North Front Street just before 8:00 p.m. on November 28.

Following the investigation, it was discovered that both people were under the influence of narcotics and had pulled into the parking lot before passing out in the car with it still running,

The 45-year-old male driver was given a driving suspension and the police seized the vehicle for seven days.
