Conference offers chance to share challenges of brain injuries

  • February 1, 2012 at 3:17 pm

By Topher Seguin

Anyone affected by a brain injury is invited to learn about building strong relationships and coping with changes after an injury.

This is the first year both the “Mix and Mingle” and “Ripple Effect” conferences are being held together, said Pam Ferrill, the Brain Injury Association’s office administrator.

The “Mix and Mingle” event takes place on Feb. 9, and the “Ripple Effect” conference takes place on Feb. 10 at the Bay of Quinte Yacht Club. Everyone is welcome to attend.

“We’ve got a mixture of speakers,” said Ferrill, “there will be family members, survivors, and professionals speaking at the event.”

Some special guests scheduled for the evening include some Belleville Bulls, and MPP Todd Smith of Prince Edward-Hastings.

There will also be a jazz band playing throughout the evening.

The event is sponsored by Thomson Rogers and all proceeds go directly to the Brain Injury Association of Belleville and District.

Tickets for the “Mix & Mingle” are $50, and the event runs from 5:30-8p.m.

Tickets for the conference are $75, and it runs from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Tickets for both are $100.
