Two people are dead after a head-on collision on Highway 401 near Trenton at 9:50 a.m. Monday.
The crash occurred in the eastbound passing lane, between Aikins Road and Glen Miller Road.
According to Napanee OPP Cst. Tammy Coleman, one vehicle was traveling west in the eastbound lane, and two vehicles were travelling east. One managed to swerve and avoid the oncoming vehicle and grazed the concrete divider. The second vehicle collided head-on with the oncoming vehicle.
Both drivers involved in the collision were killed.
“The driver who grazed the divider was shaken, but able to provide a complete report,” said Coleman. “No one else was injured and there have been no charges laid.”
Police are notifying next of kin, and were to release further details later today.
