One person dead in Hwy 62 collision

One person has been confirmed dead in a collision that happened around 6:30 this morning on Highway 62 near Carleton Cove Road north of Belleville.

Constable Alana Deubel with the Centre Hastings OPP said a northbound compact car crossed the centre line and struck a southbound tractor trailer.

The driver of the car was killed in the accident, and the transport driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

As the OPP continue to investigate, Highway 62 is closed between Vermilyea Road and Ashley Street.
