  • February 13, 2013 at 1:12 pm

By Alisa Howlett

Federal Liberal leadership candidate Justin Trudeau will pay Loyalist College a visit on Feb. 14, 2013 as he campaigns for votes.

One of Trudeau’s many campaign talking points is the middle-class struggle to access post-secondary education.

Trudeau is scheduled to arrive at 10:00 a.m. He will then tour the media department.

The students of Journalism- Online, Print, and Broadcast have collaborated with the Television New Media students to provide the college with an online preview show. The live show will air at 10:15 a.m. after Trudeau arrives.

Cameras will follow Trudeau on the live tour of the college.

After Trudeau has toured the college he will give a speech in Alumni hall, which is open to students and the public.

Once the speech is finished Trudeau will allow for a question and answer period. The president of the local Liberal Association, Loyalist’s own reporters in training, and students can ask questions.

The question and answer period will be streamed live on the college’s online news source, Qnet News.

Students can interact with Trudeau through social media platforms such as Twitter. Tweet your questions for Trudeau to QNet News and student reporters will ask them.

Following the speech there will be a short postgame show concluding the mornings events.

Students as well as the public are encouraged to interact and participate.
