By Riley Maracle

BELLEVILLE – There is a report today that the Sears operations in Belleville are laying off about 75 employees.

The layoffs would be in addition to 120 jobs cut at the Sears distribution centre that were announced a year ago, and further layoffs in November .

Quinte News reported that a meeting was held this morning with all Sears employees in Belleville. Employees leaving the meeting refused to speak to a QNet News reporter.

Calls to the Sears head office in Toronto by QNet News have not been returned.

More information will be posted as it becomes available.
