Loyalist Lancers fundraise for 9-year-old with cancer

  • November 27, 2014 at 10:20 am

By Denissa Palmer

BELLEVILLE – Some mornings, 9-year-old Thomas Martin packs books for the hospital bed instead of school.

Martin has brain cancer and is currently receiving treatment. Loyalist College’s athletics department, along with some student athletes, want to support him on his journey.

On Nov. 28, a $5 spaghetti dinner will be served in Club 213 before the men’s basketball game. VIP seats for that game will be sold for $5.

The college’s athletic department is also selling $10 “Team Thomas” t-shirts.

If a $1000 is raised for Martin, men’s volleyball player Adam Strickland  says he will shave his head.

More to come.
