Super-Smash-Bros-Tournament-for-BGHF-466x330

By Suzanne Coolen

BELLEVILLE – Students at Loyalist College are preparing for a fight against evil villains this coming Wednesday evening, but it’s all for a good cause.

Students from the Advertising and Marketing Communications program are hosting a Super Smash Bros. Tournament to raise funds for the Belleville General Hospital Foundation with money going toward new equipment.

Host student, Ryan Sweanor, says that everyone is welcome to participate.

“This was going to be an event for students only, but due to popular demand, we had to expand to anyone who emails,” he said.

Players will face off in eight-minute, four player and free-for-all matches until a winner is decided. There will be prizes for the top three players at the end, including a custom refurbished Nintendo, straight from 1985.

The tournament begins at 6 p.m. on Dec.3 in Alumni Hall. The fee to enter is $5. Spectators are welcome to watch.
