Eastbound 401 west of Trenton is now re-opened

  • February 4, 2015 at 1:25 pm

By Kate Shumakova

BELLEVILLE – The all lanes on Highway 401, west of Trenton, are re-opened a few moments ago following an accident this morning blocked the eastbound of the highway.

A tractor trailer lost control and struck some guard rails near the mile-marker 517, between the Wooler Road and the Brighton exit.

The trailer is blocking both eastbound lanes; traffic is getting by on the shoulder.

The Northumberland OPP Const. Steve Bates said the driver received minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to hospital as precaution.

Bates did not know when the lanes will be reopened but asked motorists be patient.
