BELLEVILLE – Claudette Dignard-Remillard is retiring after more than 20 years of service with Hastings County.

Dignard-Remillard was the administrator of Hastings Manor in Belleville and Hastings Centennial Manor in Bancroft, two long-term care homes.

She was given flowers and thanks from Warden Rick Phillips and councillors during county council’s meeting Thursday morning.

“In all of that time (she) has always gone above and beyond to provide the best possible service for all of the residents of both Centennial and Hastings Manor,” Warden Phillips said.

All of the councillors took a picture with Dignard-Remillard to commemorate her work with the council.

“Thank you, Your Honour and council members. I love flowers,” she said after accepting the gift.

“I have enjoyed working for the county of Hastings so very much.”

“And I want to thank every council member. Some of them have come and gone. You are all so great. Every time we’ve had an election and new members, that quality of leadership that we have at county council is always there … For my 20 years I’ve seen it,” Dignard-Remillard said.

Council held a celebration for Dignard-Remillard at Hastings Manor after the council meeting.
