Two break-in cases under investigation in Belleville

  • September 16, 2015 at 10:38 am

By Kate Shumakova

BELLEVILLE – It was a hard Tuesday morning for Belleville residences as two break-and-enter cases were reported by the Belleville police.

At 6:45 a.m. one case was reported at an east-end home. The suspects entered the residence, took the key to the owner’s vehicle and stole the car, police say. At 7:37 a.m. police noticed the stolen vehicle travelling along Station Street. Officers followed the car to Farley Avenue and eventually pulled it over at Bridge Street East and Haig Road. A young woman was arrested, but a young man had jumped out of the car before it was stopped.

Police are asking for the public’s help in locating the man, who they say is a 16-year-old from Belleville.

Another break-in was reported at  10:14 a.m. Tuesday at a business on Pinnacle Street. The business was entered during the night between Friday and Saturday, police say. An undisclosed amount of cash and a laptop computer were stolen.

Police are asking anybody who has information regarding the cases to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
