Loyalist and Cogeco announce partnership for floorball event

BELLEVILLE – Loyalist College and TVCogeco Belleville will be partnering for next year’s U19 World Floorball Championship.

Over 400 athletes from 16 countries will be coming to Belleville next year to compete for the women’s championship title.

Tim Durkin, the media director of the championships committee, announced the partnership in the Digital Media Centre at Loyalist Tuesday afternoon.

Floorball is huge overseas, Durkin said:

Thanks to broadcast partnerships, the games will be televised to a potential 3 million homes across Ontario, Durkin said:

The tournament runs from May 4 to 8 at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre. Teams from 15 countries will participate.

Loyalist’s Journalism – Online, Print and Broadcast, Sports Journalism, Television New Media and Public Relations programs will be included in the education and broadcasting partnership.
