BELLEVILLE – A woman was sexually assaulted in Belleville while jogging in the area of Dundas Street East and Pinnacle Street in early December.

According to police, the woman was jogging around 8 p.m. on Dec. 8 when she noticed a man standing on the same sidewalk as her. The man grabbed her and they exchanged brief words. The man admitted he did not know her.

The female quickly left and did not see him again. She was not injured.

He is described as being five feet ten inches with a slight build and was wearing a hat with a plaid, Buffalo brand shirt. He had no noticeable facial piercings or facial hair. The Belleville Police Service is asking anyone with information to come forward and to contact Sgt. Brad Lentini at (613) 966-0882 extension #2224, or email blentini@police.belleville.on.ca.
