Downtown Belleville disturbance leads to an assault

BELLEVILLE – A downtown disturbance led to an arrest for assault on Sunday evening.

Just after 9:30 p.m., Belleville Police Service were called to the area around Pinnacle Street and Macannany Street.

When police arrived, they say they found a woman who said she had been assaulted. Her injuries did not require medical attention.

Nearby, police located and arrested a 30-year-old Belleville man. He is charged with assault and being held until bail hearing Feb 1. at the Belleville Provincial Court.
