BELLEVILLE – Two Peregrine falcons worth $5,000 in total have been stolen from a bird breeder on Stewart Road in Alnwick-Haldimand Township, according to Northumberland OPP .

The birds were reported missing Sunday; they were last seen at 6 a.m. on Saturday. The locks to both birds’ cages were cut and locks on several other cages were also damaged, police say.

The falcons are tagged and have serial numbers attached to them. The serial numbers are #BY77800925 for the male falcon and #GCBFCAN1051 for the female.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Northumberland OPP at 905-372-5421 or anonymously call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or leave a tip online.
